Module 0

Introductory Module

Heidelberg

In the introductory module, students receive an overview of the program structure, the mentoring system, and various teaching methods. Individual consultations on project work encourage constructive questioning and refinement of the prepared topics. Supporting this, the Journal Clubs allow students to position their work within the field of educational research and teach critical engagement with scientific publications. In small groups, students also learn how to use electronic programs for developing exam questions. Additionally, the introductory module lays the foundation for the mentoring program, which links the modules as a longitudinal element. Together with their mentors, students define and discuss their competencies and goals, using the role matrix as a reflective tool to document knowledge growth across various roles.
